The Great Backyard Bird Count: Feb. 18, 19, 20, and 21

The Great Backyard Bird Count starts tomorrow. If you want to participate, visit the web site to get the details. Not only is it great fun, but backyard birders provide important research and information from the local counts. We will do our count Sunday. When we keep an eye out, we can be surprised at what we see. If you plan to be home over the week-end, get out your binos and start counting. At the end of the day, go the web site and enter your count.

    Wish I could participate, but I live so far and hardly see any birds around here (unless crows count)

    Bird watching is one of my favourite weekend pastimes, especially as I sip a cuppa in the morning. You've some lovely birds in your garden.

    We had a Big Birdwatch recently in the UK and I always wondered whether it took place in other countries too. Our birds lie low when the count is on - they seem to know.
