Farewell, Dear One

For Virginia

My bestest friend for a life time (literally since before we can remember we have been friends) called this morning to let me know that her mother had passed. We knew it was coming, but none-the-less the loss of a mother is just the saddest loss. My own mother has been gone 18 years, and I still miss her terribly. Now we say good-bye to our second mom. My friend is broken hearted. Her mother had a long, productive, healthy life, all 93 years. She rests now.  We will hold dear the wonderful memories, the kindnesses, the generosity, the wisdom.

  1. Morning Ann My deepest sympathy to your friend for the loss of her mother although to reach 93 years old is wonderful and she must have lots of lovely memories. We have just lost a friend, Jen, on Friday of the Big C, she was late 30's and had two young children.

I have been looking at your pictures and details of your visit to the UK 10 years ago. Very interesting, Most places you mention I have visited but although I lived in London for over 30 years I have never been to Abbey Road!! We are hoping to visit Liverpool in September, the home of the Beatles!

A dull morning here in the UK, hopefully a little sun later. Have a good day, Jackie in Surrey, UK.

  3. I'm so sorry to hear of your friend's loss. A close friend of mine recently lost her father after a long and tough battle with cancer. It terribly sad even when expected.
