A Fairy Good Day

Our favorite garden nursery held one of its great events: A Fair Festival. My daughter invited me to join her and the little girls to the festival. In sad economic times and with stiff competition in the gardening market, nurseries have to be creative to bring in customers during a still slow part the year. It worked. I bought my gladiola bulbs, and the green house was teeming with children and parents, all excited and happy, indulging in whimsy and fantasy.

And we ended the day with a drive to Denver to celebrate our oldest daughter's birthday with a surprise family dinner at Olive Garden. A Fairy Good Day.

  5. How fun! The fairy garden looks enchanting. We "attempted" to create a fairy garden a few years ago and I still have the accessories. Maybe I should make another one this year.
Your Gdaughters are adorable! They are lucky to be able to spend time with you.

  6. Looks like you got nice weather too. Garden centres can be great with events & the odd bargain. I bought 6 primrose the other day marked down to 2pounds (3 US dollars). By the way, the girls are gorgeous.

  7. I saw your comment on another blog about dafodills. I wondered lonely as a cloud that floats on high or vale and hill.. and then my heart with pleasure fills and dances with the dafodills! Hence the name of my blog. Love the fairy post.

  9. I love looking at Fairy Gardens, but I never do make one for myself. I wonder why? I suppose if I had any little ones around still, I might. But they are all grown!

  10. Oh, that IS a fairy good day! One of the wonderful garden stores further south (Centennial) does the same thing. My neighbor and I wanted to take the fairy garden class last year and now you've inspired me to see if they offer it again this year. I can't wait to start setting up my fairy garden!
